During the holiday season, I enjoy decorating, baking delicious treats, indoor gardening and snuggling with the dogs.  I'm always looking forward to putting my feet up and sipping on some hot cocoa while watching all of the Christmas lights twinkle around me.  Before I get to savor those simple moments, I want to make sure my home is tidy.  While you enjoy the beautiful gleam coming from those glowing holiday lights, you can also enjoy your glowing floors as well!

The holidays can be a chaotic time.  With a few tools in your cleaning arsenal, you can stay one step ahead!  Using Bona products helps me make cleanup easy, so I can focus on the things that matter.  Thanks to my supplies, 10 to 15 minutes is all I really need to spend on tidying up!  Here are some tips so you can tackle cleaning and continue to make those unforgettable holiday memories!

My secret arsenal of supplies

Clean As You Go

Don't let muck and mess build up over time.  It's important to keep your surfaces and floors clean, daily, over the holiday season.  This way, dirt and mud don't get tracked all over the house.  I use my Bona mop with the disposable dusting cloths every evening.  This takes less than 5 minutes every day! It's so quick and easy and the cloths lock away dirt, dust and pet hair.  All you have to do is grab it and go! It's lightweight with no cords and always ready to use when and where you need it!

Keep Entry Ways Clear Of Mud

I live in New England, and our winters can be very severe.  I have to admit that I do track slush in the house when I clomp inside wearing my snow boots.  My two chihuahuas also tend to track in mud on their paws.  I may take my shoes off before I enter the living room or the kitchen, but my foyer still becomes a mess.

It's important to remember that when guests come over during celebrations and events, this is the first part of the house they see.  For a quick fix I use Bona hardwood floor wet cleaning pads.  They are super good at cleaning muck, dry fast and also leave no residue!

Focus On The Kitchen

Family and friends all tend to congregate around food.  No matter how much you try to keep the entertainment in the living room or the dining room, people always end up in the kitchen.  Make sure counters, stove tops and floors are crumb free.  My Bona mop makes it easy to keep the kitchen floor clear of grime with it's washable and reusable microfiber pad.  It can be used on hardwood, stone, tile and laminate floors.

Banish Those Tracks & Paw Prints

Animals and pets are a big part of many homes.  They are a source of unconditional love, fun and dirt.  So much dirt!  When my pups trot in after play time or a walk, I am always shocked at how dirt ends up everywhere.  It gets worse during the winter months with the mud, snow and road salt.  I'm serious when I say that the Bona wet cleaning pads take care of it in a snap.  Instead of spending hours on end fussing over a mess that won't quit, you can snuggle up by the tree with your pooch or feline friend.

It’s so important to stay on top of the cleaning with so many people coming in and out of the house. It sounds like this is a great cleaning product though which is quick and easy but does the job.

Why is it that this time of the year is always so messy. It feels like I spend most of my time cleaning and mopping, and we stay in South Africa so I don’tr even have to worry about snow LOL. The Bono mop seems to be a great investment and it looks light weight to. I wonder if they’re sold here?

Oh, I completely agree Michelle! I totally know how you feel. I love it’s price point and how easy it is to use. I feel like I’m finally ahead of cleaning now instead of constantly behind 🙂

I’ve been very curious about the Bona product line. I try different products on my hardwood floors, but without fail, I feel like every product is doing damage to the wood. I’d like to give them a try some time. Maybe I’ll win the contest! 🙂

We don’t get much mud down here (Houston, TX) but I agree with focusing on the kitchen. Since I cook a lot, that floor needs regular attention!

Yes! The kitchen always could use a quick clean up each day 🙂 My kitchen is less than spotless after a few cooking sessions!

It is so important to clean as you go along because the longer you leave it the more it piles up. Especially at this time of year during the festive season.

I’ve never used Bona produtcs, but they sound really fabulous from your review. I need to do more of those 5-minute cleans like you mention, so I will use Bona for that!

This is great, I’ve not tried this brand. I just use the swifter brand. My kids love to help me around the home too since most of the mess is their doing lol

I couldn’t agree more with keeping the entry way clear and tidying up as you go! I’ve always felt like if you just spend 10 minutes a day tidying up you’ll never have to spend hours picking up!
