Project 366 Week 5 & 6

The 366 Photo Challenge 2016

The days are finally getting longer, and spring is only 33 days away!  If we can get through the harsh weather in February, we will have made it through the depths of winter unscathed.  I'm looking forward to the snow melting and revealing crocuses, tulips and daffodils once again.  The second week of this month brings roses and chocolate which makes the sting of the cold temperatures a bit more bearable.  Please enjoy these visual delights during these frosty few weeks.

Day 032 | 366 {reflection}

reflection

I find that the beginning of a new month is always the perfect time to reflect. I can't believe that it was 62° on February 1st in New England! Today also brought us this gorgeous sunset. I checked on my winter garden and it's doing great! Veggies that are doing the best-peas, onions and garlic. Veggies that didn't do so hot-kale(due to an unfortunate ice crushing incident), spinach and miner's lettuce. I think it was too delicate to make it through the hard freeze. I'm happy with what has grown so far & I can't wait to keep going with it until Spring! Hopefully that furry critter predicts an early arrival tomorrow!🐛🌼🌿

Day 033 | 366 {sweet}

nerds rope

I may hoard nerds ropes around the holidays and stash them away for later. Something about the mix of the nerds candy with the chewy, sweet, gummy core is something that needs to be experienced first hand at least once in life. In my case, multiple times a year seems to suffice.

Day 034 | 366 {self portrait}

Sweater

Today was gloomy with rain pouring down and a fair amount of wind. Every morning I make a cup of coffee & watch the activity at the bird feeder before I go about my day. 🌧🐦☕️

Day 035 | 366 {calm}

crabapple

If you ever want to experience the serenity of nature, take a walk outside and observe everything around you as it becomes enveloped in shadow at dusk. Standing under this crabapple tree as darkness cloaks its fruits.

Day 036 | 366 {eyes}

Duke

I can never say no to those eyes. He knows when he gives me that look, no matter what he did, I'll forgive him. Smart little thing🐶❤️

Day 037 | 366 {next to me}

Taming Wildflowers by Miriam Goldberger

Reading this fabulous book and it's giving me great ideas for spring! Ready for the snow to melt and new garden beds to be filled with wildflowers!

Day 038 | 366 {what I’m listening to}

Bose Headphones

Would you like to swing on a star, carry moonbeams home in a jar, and be better off than you are, or would you rather be a mule?

Day 039 | 366 {early}

Red Tulips

Is it ever too early for tulips? I'd say no!

Day 040 | 366 {square}

Breadseed Poppy Seeds

So excited to plant this breadseed poppy mix in early spring! Has anyone else grown poppies from seed? I'm hoping to have some success and avoid birds eating them and slugs attacking my young plants! Any tips you want to share are welcome🌱

Day 041 | 366 {depth of field}

Depth of Field

Chasing the winter blues away with a rainbow of colors. I feel like adult coloring books are a very inexpensive form of seasonal therapy! I'm having a ball with The Secret Garden by Johanna Basford until I get to enjoy the outside garden once again!

Day 042 | 366 {metal}

Heart Shaped Box

Heart shaped box ❤️

Day 043 | 366 {red}

Amaryllis Benefica

My burgundy-red amaryllis Benefica blooming right in time for Valentine's Day! The petals look just like velvet and have a gorgeous hue when the light hits the plant.

Day 044 | 366 {free choice}

Pink Hydrangea

Hydrangeas from my valentine💗 Can't wait to plant these in the garden once it gets warm. Feeling like that's a long ways away. It is -2°F and with the wind chill it feels like -15°F 😱 Perfect excuse not to leave the house, plant some seeds and cuddle.

Day 045 | 366 {makes me happy}

Godiva Dessert Truffles

The man who gifted me this delicious box of Godiva truffles makes me very happy! 😀 Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day❣

My 366 So Far

February Calendar

I'm hoping that your February has been full of fun winter activities and maybe even some spring daydreaming.  It's almost time to plant seeds and get ready for the new garden season!  If you want to follow my daily photo journey, check it out here on Instagram!  Stop and smell some gorgeous red blooms, eat something decadently sweet and keep warm under a fuzzy blanket.  The warmer months are right around the corner!

    Beautiful photos. I too bought tulips last week and may get some more as our stores are full of them right now.
