Project 366 Week 3 & 4

The 366 Photo Challenge 2016

The first month of the year, as well as the January portion of my project 366 is coming to a close.  Looking forward to opening the door and entering into the fabulous month of February.  Some little things that made me smile this month were days cuddled up with hot drinks, receiving an abundant amount of seed catalogs in the mail and watching some of my amaryllis bulbs bloom for the second time. I'm hoping February brings a furry critter predicting an early spring, a day you are allowed to stuff your face with heart shaped chocolates and not much more snow.  We will see how it goes, but until then, come see what I've photographed this year so far!

Day 016 | 366 {my walls}

Gibson 345

Guitars hanging on my walls. My favorite guitar in my father's collection. Cherry red electric guitar that fills the home with music.

Day 017 | 366 {outside my window}

House Finch

Spying a tiny red bird outside my window.

Day 018 | 366 {pattern}

Sweater

Pretty woven pattern in this sweater I wore today. In New England, you can't just wear a sweater though. I wore a long sleeve shirt under this sweater, a warm scarf, gloves, a thick coat, jeans, leg warmers, three pairs of socks and snow boots! ❄️ Gotta gear up in the wintertime!

Day 019 | 366 {blur}

Daffodil

Beautiful daffodils blooming in my room in January. They smell just like spring. My brain is tricked into thinking it's spring for a few seconds everyday when I wake up. I'll take it! 😊🌱🌼

Day 020 | 366 {what I’m reading}

Epic Tomatoes Craig LeHoullier

Getting ready for gardening season! Flipping through this book while I make dinner tonight, filling my mind with future juicy & epic tomatoes!

Day 021 | 366 {street}

Grow Bags

Word on the street is that these 5 gallon retro herb grow bags are amazing! I know this is a little off prompt, but I just love growing in these during the winter months. I planted basil, cilantro and parsley seeds today! This is my second crop of herbs this winter. The first crop did excellent, so I figured I'd grow more. Huge thanks to Katie (@theurbanladybug) for the giveaway that introduced me to these. I'm thinking of trying the tomato and potato grow bags as well this summer! 😀🍅

022 | 366 {crisp}

Ella Cuddle Cave

The air is cold & crisp today. My chihuahuas like to stay warm, so I made them a cuddle cave that they seem rather pleased with. Ella likes to keep her head out so she can keep an eye on what's going on. Duke on the other hand is curled up without a care in the world (yes, he is in there too!) Hoping this giant blizzard that's supposed to hit the East Coast this weekend misses us. With the temperatures dropping, there will be many more cuddle caves to come!

Day 023 | 366 {my Saturday morning}

Day 023 | 366 {my Saturday morning}

Not much of a blizzard here in Mass, just a light dusting of snow. ❄️ This is a serious treat compared to last year. I enjoy being able to open my front door & I am very thankful I can walk out to my winter garden without dealing with a surprise avalanche.

Day 024 | 366 {negative space}

Chicken

One leg up for good luck & warmth.

Day 025 | 366 {a pair}

Tory Burch Earrings

A pair of earrings I tend to wear on most days:)

Day 026 | 366 {my view today}

Cherry Nymph Amaryllis

I love seeing my Cherry Nymph amaryllis flowers blooming by my window. Such a beautiful view if you ask me!❤️

Day 027 | 366 {candid}

Pekin Duck

Candid shot of Freckles preening. She is one sweet, resilient & happy duck now that she is fully healed! Back to normal on the farm❤️

Day 028 | 366 {white on white}

White Amaryllis

My white amaryllis is back and as beautiful as ever! It bloomed right before Christmas, and here is the second set of flowers my plant produced. Thrilled to see it make an appearance again🌱🌰

Day 029 | 366 {cozy}

delicate

A chill in the air, snowflakes falling & lots of germs running through my body today. Perfect time to wear my cozy scarf. 🌡🌬❄️

Day 030 | 366 {yellow}

Day 030 | 366 {yellow}

Squeezing some lemon into my water with a pinch of cayenne. I need that little bit of spice to add some heat! 🍋🌶

Day 031 | 366 {open}

Day 031 | 366 {open}

I opened this mollusk to find a beautiful white pearl. It takes a minimum of 3 to 5 years for a freshwater pearl to be created. White pearls symbolize wisdom, and pearls bring good luck. Hoping wearing this around my neck opens the door & invites those positive qualities into my life!

    You have a nice series here, but of course the chicken and the duck are two that I love. The pond is only open a little but this warm day brought about 25 mallards, a wood duck and three families of geese all looking toward spring…Michelle

    The weather is making me smile – no major snowstorms, roads have been clear and temps have been above normal. A trip to the Caribbean made me smile. My niece coming into the baby shower I hosted for her – looking radiant and very pregnant. And date night with my hubby.

    My husband has the same Gibson guitar. Ours also hangs on the wall. He has a few others though too.
