Create With Color

I headed over to my local Lowe's and purchased some different varieties of vibrant Monrovia plants. I live in zone 6a New England, so right around this time of year, the garden centers get in all of these gorgeous plants. I get so excited when shopping. It can be hard to drag me away from the fantastic flowers in front of me. Monrovia has such a large selection of both perennials and annuals to choose from each year. The great part about creating a container garden is putting together your very own design. It's all up to you!

I like to mix and match, sticking to a color scheme while adding different textures to add visual interest. I am drawn to the thriller, filler, spiller method. I choose one or two tall plants for thriller, a couple plants that fill the pot that are medium sized, and plants with a trailing habit. The plants with a trailing habit will start out small when you purchase them. They will eventually start spilling over the edge, creating a bit of romance and elegance.

Sensational Selections

I picked out some vibrant varieties to liven up my outdoor space. I decided to add Blue Eyed Beauty African Daisy, Mega Revolution Gerbera Daisy, Dahlinova Hypnotica Dahlias, Darla Daiscia and Golden Variegated Sweet Flag to my containers. All of these plants can be purchased at Monrovia's online store. Once you order your plants, you can have them delivered to the garden center of your choice!

I'm always drawn to Monrovia's plants. Being an avid gardener, I really appreciate the high-quality plants they offer. They all look so healthy with big bountiful blooms and vibrant foliage. Perennials and shrubs hold up to the test of time and thrive year after year. I love how you can enter in your zip code here to help you find the perfect plant for your specific climate. Give it a try!

This has given me a lot of great ideas! I have toyed with the idea of starting a flower garden of some kind in recent years, but always stop short because I just don’t know where to start.

I love flowers in pots, probably because ironically I don’t really have any flowers in my flower beds. The pots make everything lively and they pop in front of the other greenery.

We did buy some African Daisies and Dahlias this year. That and so much more. Tell me how do you find the willpower to stop? I always end up buying way more flowers than I should!

I love this post – I have a balcony garden so always have to put things in tubs and planters, but the planters are always dull colours, so I bought spray paint and jazzed them up a bit before I planted out the flowers. i just love these African Daisies, they’re beautiful x

Your containers are gorgeous! I agree with you that Monrovia plants are fantastic. I’ve been trying to use new types of plants and I noticed Monrovia always has unique varieties and colors. You’ve given me inspiration to pull out some of my old containers from my shed and get them filled with blooms! That green container you have is awesome. Love the color!
